  • Copyright Clearance Center (CCC)
The Copyright Clearance Center, a not-for-profit organization providing collective copyright licensing services, maintains a WWW server with information on licensing services offered to its clients.
  • Copyright Renewal Database(Stanford University)
The period from 1923-1963 is of special interest for US copyrights, because between those dates, a renewal registration was required to prevent the expiration of copyright. This database makes searchable the copyright renewal records received by the US Copyright Office between 1950 and 1993 for books published in the US between 1923 and 1963. This database makes it easier to determine, efficiently and with some certainty, whether a work is still under copyright or now within the public domain.
