Call NumberA combination of letters and numbers that identifies the broad subject and shelf location of items in the library collection. The call number appears in IUCAT and on the item itself. Two types of call numbers are used in the IPFW library: the Library of Congress (LC) and Superintendent of Documents (SUDOC) classification systems.
Circulation ServicesSteps involved in lending library materials, including check out and renewal, recalls for overdue items, holds for items needed by another user, and fines for lost materials.
Closed CollectionA secure library collection, such as university archives or rare books, not open to the public but accessible by appointment only. Ask at the Service Desk for assistance.

Media Viewing & Music Listening EquipmentCheck out headphones and cartridges, along with music CDs, videos, and DVDs at the Service Desk, and find a spot to relax in the media viewing and music listening area on the third floor. For some applications, headphones can be used in the student-access computing lab.
MicrofilmRolls of negative film that look just like the 35 mm film used in a camera and contain the images of pages from periodical articles, newspapers, technical reports, and other printed materials.
MicroficheThese 4" x 6" sheets of film contain up to 98 pages of microprint copied from periodical articles, newspapers, technical reports, and other printed materials.
MicroformAll reduced (micro) forms of printed materials, typically in microfilm or microfiche format, designed for efficient permanent storage.
These accounts insure that only valid IPFW students use the computing resources paid for by their technology fees. PhotocopiersPhotocopy machines located on the first, second, and fourth floors accept coins or bills to make copies at $0.10 per page, or $0.08 using a copy card or your official university ID. A color copier is available on campus at Printing Services.
