It generally works like this:
The IU-Link button will appear when results are returned from searching a database such as Academic Search Premier (EBSCOhost). When the database you are searching does not provide the full text of an item you want, selecting the IU-Link button can offer alternatives for obtaining the wanted item. Once the IU-Link button has been selected a full menu of options appears. Typical menu options may include a link to IUCAT, where you may search to see if Helmke Library owns the periodical you want, or you may see a link to Helmke Library’s Document Delivery Services, where you can request the item be sent to you automatically. All of this can be accomplished without the need to leave one database and enter another to search for the item you want. Check it out!
