Dr. Svoboda came to IPFW in 1970 and retired in 2008 as Professor Emeritus of Mathematics. He received degrees from Northern Illinois University (B.S., 1966), Ohio University (M.S., 1967) and Purdue University (Ph.D., 1971). He taught mathematics and was assistant dean of the School of Arts and Sciences. He was recipient of the Amoco Foundation Outstanding Teaching Award in 1981 and the Outstanding Teacher Award in 1981.
