Professor Moritz taught in the English department from 1991 until his retirement in 2005 as instructor emeritus in English. He received degrees from University of Southern California (A.B., 1961; M.A., 1963). He directed the writing program for the English and linguistics department. In 1997 he received the Ulmer Award.
