Professor Novak came to the Purdue center in 1960 where he taught in the English department. He retired in as associate professor emeritus of English. He received his degrees from Wabash College (B.A., 1955), the University of Oklahoma (M.S., 1957) and Western Michigan University (Ph.D., 1977). His area of interest was creative writing.
