About this Section

The executive branch constitutes the largest and most diverse collection of government publications and could not all possibly be listed here. The historical publication series of the office of the President and executive agency rules and regulations are covered here. In addition, this guide provides a review of executive publications of the nineteenth century as part of the American State Papers and United States Congressional Serial Set, a discussion of the printing and distribution of executive agency publications in the twentieth century, current indexing and access tools for identifying historical materials, and recommendations for obtaining materials.
