As a courtesy to our patrons, Document Delivery Services will return books not ordered through DDS to other libraries. Helmke Library however, accepts no responsibility for the safe or timely arrival of books left here for return to other libraries. Please allow 2-3 weeks for returns. DDS maintains a file of titles and dates mailed, and may be contacted for such information should problems arise. If the book is not received by your lender within 2-3 weeks after the date mailed by us, you will need to contact the lender directly. Helmke Library is not responsible for any books lost in the mail. See following for description of our procedures:
1. All books returned to this office are stamped with the date received in this office and the name of our library. Libraries not within the IU system, according to their own policies, may or may not honor that stamped returned date.
2. Books from libraries who participate in our state's INCOLSA Wheels courier program are returned via that courier service and are uninsured. Books from libraries which do not participate in INCOLSA Wheels and books from out-of-state libraries are returned via USPS Library Rate and are not insured.
