Upgrades to the IM instant messaging reference service at Helmke Library bring library assistance one step closer to researchers. New features became available when reference services changed software this month. Now, our chat icon appears on each page of the library Web site and a full-color display indicates that the service is online. Students can use the IM service anonymously or with their IPFW e-mail information. Either way, transcripts of the chat session are available to be printed out for future reference.
