NISTEM is part of the I-STEM Resource Network, which is a partnership made up of Indiana's institutions of higher education, K-12 schools, businesses, and government. The initiative engages Indiana's K–12 educators and leaders to work together to implement the highest academic standards in support of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics literacy.

NISTEM partners in northeast Indiana include the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo, Science Central, McMillen Center for Health Education, Allen County Parks, PBS39 WFWA Public Television, the Allen County Public Library, among others.
