Helmke Library's Search 360 tool supports simultaneous searching across a broad, multidisciplinary information environment or across multiple databases in narrow subject categories. Search 360 does not compensate for differences in vocabulary or descriptors among different databases, so greater precision is likely using the advanced search interface within a particular abstracting and indexing database.

Full Description:

Search results are displayed in the order that they are returned from each resource. Results are grouped by provider and by database name, and clustered into categories that can be easily and intuitively browsed. Categories include the topics, dates, journals, and authors most commonly represented within the results. Search 360's federated-search approach is a good way to get started because it offers a distinct advantage when you are trying to discover how much information is out there. Once you get a feel for the scope of your research, you will profit from searching independently in specialized databases and refining your search limits and search terms.
