The mission of the National Union Catalog of Manuscript Collections (NUCMC program) is to provide and promote bibliographic access to the nation's documentary heritage.

Full Description:

The NUCMC provides records describing archival and manuscript collections held by repositories located throughout the United States and its territories. From 1959 to 1993, the NUCMC catalog was produced as printed volumes. Since 1986 records created by NUCMC catalogers are available online. Catalog records include subject and name access to manuscript collections and where the collections are located.
