For IPFW faculty, students, and staff who need to be able to check out materials directly from another academic library, the IPFW Helmke library offers a variety of reciprocal borrowing programs. IPFW is a part of the Academic Libraries of Indiana (ALI) Reciprocal Borrowing Program, Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC), and OCLC Reciprocal Faculty Borrowing Program (RFBP). Reciprocal borrowing cards can only be issued to IPFW faculty, students, and staff whose library accounts are in good standing. To obtain a reciprocal borrowing card ask at the Helmke Library Service Desk or contact Cheryl Truesdell (260) 481-6506 or e-mail: truesdel@ipfw.edu

Academic Libraries of Indiana (ALI) Reciprocal Borrowing Program

This program allows students and faculty in good standing to check out materials at any participating Indiana academic library. Faculty, students, and staff are subject to the circulation policies of the lending library. Reciprocal borrowing cards are available at the Service Desk.

Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC) Reciprocal Borrowing Program

The CIC Reciprocal Borrowing Program includes all of the Big Ten Universities, the University of Chicago, the University of Illinois-Chicago, and Penn State University. This program provides for in-house use, as well as borrowing privileges for visiting faculty members. To request a CIC reciprocal borrowing card contact Cheryl Truesdell 260-481-6506 or e-mail: truesdel@ipfw.edu

OCLC Reciprocal Faculty Borrowing Program (RFBP)

This program allows faculty members of participating institutions borrowing privileges and on-site access to the collections of over 200 research libraries in North America. A list of participating libraries is available from Document Delivery Services.

Courtesy Book Return Service

DDS will return books borrowed from any library. However, DDS is not responsible for any overdue or recall fines that might occur when materials are left with the DDS Office to return. The DDS Office is also not responsible for any items lost in the mail. For further information on the library's courtesy return see the library's Courtesy Book Return Policy.
