Library Privileges for Alumni

IPFW graduates are welcome to continue using the Helmke Library. The University Services Card may be used as a library card after graduation, or an Indiana University Libraries card can be created. Either card may be used at any IU library. At the Helmke Library, graduates may check out two items per subject area. The loan period for most material is six weeks, the same as for undergraduates.

Members of the Alumni Associations

Members of the IPFW Alumni Association or the Indiana University or Purdue University Alumni Associations who present current membership cards may check out up to four items on a subject, rather than the usual limit of two items per subject for non-students. In addition, the library will obtain books and other returnables from IU and Purdue libraries for Alumni Association members.

Computer Availability

Library workstations are available on the first floor of the library for public use. The printers are networked and print pages back to back. There is currently no charge for printing from the library workstations. The computers are configured only for access to research materials. Word processing and other application software are not available. Computers for quick look-ups are located on the second, third, and fourth floors, but they are not connected with printers. Search results may be downloaded to a disk from any library workstation.
