About…Codes and StandardsA code is a system of rules that govern technical specifications for an object or action. In Engineering, codes govern how processes are carried out, and what materials are used to create an object.
A standard governs physical specifications of an object including weight, size, quantity, and quality. Standards also govern processes in Accounting.
Helmke Library owns a variety of codes and standards for accounting, mechanical and civil engineering, architecture and construction. These codes govern equipment, processes and specifications for a variety of structures.
