Scheduled IUCAT Unavailability - 2003-12-22

IUCAT, the library's online catalog, will not be available from 6:00 pm on Tuesday, December 30, 2003 until 8:00 am on Friday January 2, 2004 in order to re-index the keyword section. Although the library will be open on Wednesday, December 31, we will not be able to check out books or use the catalog in any other way.

ProQuest is providing the entire IU community with a trial of their archival edition of the Historical New York Times (1851-2001) and current issues (1999-present) of five national newspapers: the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times and the Christian Science Monitor.

As part of our second floor renovation project, we are moving our science periodicals to the fourth floor and our language and literature books to the 2nd floor. Some periodicals are out of order this semester. THIS IS REALLY CONFUSING! Ask for assistance at the Service Desk or check the chart located nearby for a current update.

The library will be open on Saturday,May 24 from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., but we will not be able to use the catalog or circulate any materials on that date. Starting April 7 look for the Helmke-produced video "Making the Grade" being transmitted on College Cable Access Channel 56. Read It While It’s Hot! Chili Cook-Off, February 23, 2003, 1-4 p.m., IPFW Walb Ballroom. IPFW will host the first major event of the Allen County Reads effort to bring people together through the act of reading one book as one community. The book is Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. Sample chili submitted by local groups while discussing the book with fellow readers. Awards will be given for Best Hot, Best Mild, Best Veggie, Most Original Name, Most Unusual, and People’s Choice chili.

Beginning Saturday January 18, the library will open at 8:30 a.m. and close at 5:30 p.m. The university and the library will be closed on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, January 20.

Your unique username and password will give you access to many library services such as online reserves and remote access to library databases.

Pick up your Official University ID card in Walb Union. The ID card is your library card, too, good at any Indiana University library statewide. You must bring your card to the library to check out books and other materials.
